I genuinely do not know where to start.
Three weeks ago I was posting angry TikTok stories because nine of my videos got removed at the same time. The media was writing “bullying works” headlines. I got kicked out of the Creator Rewards Program. People were mass-reporting every episode. I genuinely considered stopping.
And today? Today the first episode of Veggie Love Island is live. And I am so, so happy.
It Feels Different This Time
Season 1 was wild. It exploded overnight. 2.3 million followers in four days. 300 million views. I was producing episodes at 3am, barely sleeping, watching the numbers go insane while TikTok simultaneously deleted my content. It was the most exciting and exhausting experience of my life.
Season 2 feels different. It is calmer. It is on a new account where nobody is mass-reporting anything (yet). The production quality is better because I actually had time to plan instead of scrambling. And the characters — oh, the characters. I love these veggies already.
Episode 1: Fresh Produce
If you have not watched it yet, go watch it right now. I will not spoil everything, but here is what you need to know:
- Pepperina and Shroomella both went for Carrotino at the coupling ceremony. It was immediate chaos.
- Shroomella called the rejection “a prophecy.” I wrote that line and I still laugh every time.
- Jalapeandro does not want to be there and it is the funniest thing in the episode.
- The host Celery said “somebody’s getting chopped tonight” in the opening line and I have never been more proud of a script.
