You know a show has made it when the copycats start appearing. Within days of Fruit Love Island going viral, TikTok was flooded with spinoffs, parodies, and fan-made versions of the same concept. Some of them are surprisingly good. Most of them are pure chaos. Here is every notable copycat and fan project we have found so far.

The Copycats

Candy Love Island

The most direct clone. Same concept as Fruit Love Island but with candy characters instead of fruit. It appeared almost immediately after FLI went viral and picked up a decent audience from people who could not get enough of the format. The production quality is noticeably lower — the character consistency is shaky and the storylines feel rushed — but it proved that the microdrama format works even when the execution is rough.

Too Fruity To Handle

A parody of Too Hot to Handle but with fruit characters. The premise is that the fruit islanders are not allowed to touch each other, and every time they do, the prize money drops. It is a clever twist on the FLI formula and the name alone got it a lot of attention. The humor leans heavier than FLI — more comedy, less drama — which gives it its own identity.

I’m a Fruit… Get Me Out of Here!

Yes, someone made an AI fruit version of I'm a Celebrity. Fruit characters doing bush tucker trials and living in a jungle camp. It is exactly as absurd as it sounds, and honestly, kind of brilliant. The format translates surprisingly well to short-form AI content because each trial is a self-contained mini-episode with a clear outcome.

Fruit Bachelor / Fruit Bachelorette

Multiple creators have made Bachelor-style spinoffs with fruit characters handing out roses. The one-on-one date format works well for short episodes — each date is its own video — but the shows tend to lack the ensemble drama that makes FLI work. When you only have one lead character making all the decisions, you lose the unpredictability of a group format with fan voting.

The Random Fruit Drama Accounts

Then there is the wave of accounts that are not really shows at all — just standalone AI videos of anthropomorphic fruit in dramatic situations. One fruit catching another fruit cheating. A fruit getting caught lying. A fruit finding out their partner is secretly a vegetable. These are pure AI slop — no serialized story, no character development, no continuity. They exist to farm views from the trend and most of them will be gone in a week.

The Fan Projects

Fan Art and Edits

The Fruit Love Island fan community has produced an incredible amount of fan art, character edits, and ship content. Strawberrina and Bananito fan art is everywhere. Some fans have created their own character designs for imaginary Season 2 contestants. Others make compilation edits of the most dramatic moments set to trending audio. This is the kind of organic fan activity that proves the characters have genuine emotional pull.

The BuzzFeed Quiz

BuzzFeed published an official “Which Fruit Love Island Contestant Are You?” quiz, and we also built our own on the official site. Thousands of fans have taken both and shared their results. It is one of those things that seems silly until you realize it means people know and care about the personality differences between animated fruit characters.

The Wikipedia Page

Fruit Love Island now has a full Wikipedia article with episode summaries, character descriptions, reception analysis, and production details. It survived multiple deletion debates, which in Wikipedia terms means the show has been deemed culturally notable. For an AI-generated TikTok series that launched two weeks ago, that is genuinely remarkable.

What the Copycats Tell Us

Every copycat is proof that Fruit Love Island created a format, not just a show. The concept of AI-generated reality TV with anthropomorphic characters is now its own genre. Some copycats will fade. A few might find their own audience. But the original set the template that everyone else is following.
